Our unique programs: Building musical foundations

At Nurtune, our programs are thoughtfully tailored to each age, so little musicians get just the right musical challenge as they grow. We go beyond typical music classes—every activity targets key developmental steps in pitch and rhythm through playful singing, hands-on instruments, and movement that builds confidence and connection.

Age Groups

  • We focus on 'Primary Pitch,' using gentle melodic scales and vocal play to build the foundational neural pathways for musical hearing. This class provides a calm, intentional space for caregivers to bond with their babies through skin-to-skin rhythm, soothing lullabies, and early auditory tracking.

  • As babies become active movers, we shift our focus to 'Steady Beat.' Through rhythmic bouncing, mirror play, and exploring simple instruments like shakers and drums, toddlers develop gross motor skills and coordination. Caregivers actively guide and share in the joy of their little one's first independent musical discoveries.

  • This stage emphasizes 'Vocal Control,' teaching children to find and match pitch accurately through playful repetition. We pair active vocal exploration with rhythmic movement and enchanting storytelling to capture their expanding vocabulary. Caregivers join the fun as active play partners, creating a supportive, joyful space to explore these early musical milestones together.

  • We introduce 'Complex Meter,' challenging children to recognize and perform more intricate rhythmic sequences. This stage bridges toddler curiosity with early group dynamics as we explore shifting tempos and musical play. Caregivers provide a secure base and active partnership as little ones begin navigating these exciting new rhythmic patterns and interacting more with their peers.

  • Our capstone tier focuses on 'Musical Independence,' ensuring children have the ear for pitch and the discipline for rhythm needed for formal instrument training. Through structured musical games and collaborative ensemble play, little ones build immense creative confidence. Caregivers transition to supportive cheerleaders right inside the room, celebrating their child’s growing autonomy and readiness for the next big musical step.

  • Our mixed-age capstone class focuses on advanced musical skills tailored for older children. We implement performance and introduce sight-reading alongside a color chromatic scale for advanced pitch recognition. It’s a collaborative, empowering space where children put their foundational skills into practice, building the ultimate confidence and musical leadership needed for future formal instrument training. (mainly 4-5 years)

  • 0–5 Years (Mixed-Age Family Event!) > 🌟 Let’s get this session started! Join Nurtune Music for a special, one-time celebratory kickoff class to launch our 9-Week Fall Session.

    Whether you are already enrolled in "Growing Through Music" or just want to pop in for an afternoon of joyful connection, this high-energy welcome party is the perfect way to celebrate the new season. We will be bringing out all the class-favorite props, singing our most upbeat songs, and ending with a magical bubble dance party!

    What’s included in our kickoff:

    • The Grand Parachute Welcome: A big, colorful start to our fall season.

  • We offer specific age tiers from 0 to 5 years old because children learn differently at every stage! If your child is right on the cusp of an age group (for example, 18 months old), feel free to enroll them in whichever tier you feel best fits their current developmental and physical activity level. If you have siblings of different ages, our Orchard (Mixed Age, 0–5 Years) class on Fridays is perfect for you!

  • Yes! We offer a $25 Pop-In Pass for families who cannot commit to the full 9-week session or just want to try a class. However, because we cap our classes at 5–7 students to ensure a quality experience, drop-in spots are strictly limited to whatever space is left over after full-session enrollments.

  • Absolutely! We love welcoming different caregivers. As long as the adult is ready to participate, sing, and engage with the child, they are welcome to bring them to class.

  • We love having the whole family join the fun! We offer a few special perks for our enrolled families:

    • Infants (6 months & under): Can attend for FREE when tagging along with an enrolled older sibling.

    • Older Siblings (6+ years): Are also welcome to join in for FREE! We just ask that you fill out a quick liability waiver for them before class begins so they are officially on our roster.

    • Note: For siblings between 7 months and 5 years old, they will need their own ticket or to be enrolled together in our mixed-age Friday "Orchard" class!

  • The Full 9-Week Session

    Our most popular option! Guarantees your spot in a small, tight-knit class and includes a free "Welcome to Sing" kit, a free Pop-Up class pass, and 10% off Nurtune merch.

    Sibling Discounts & Policies

    We love making our classes accessible for the whole family!

    • 6 Months & Under: FREE with an enrolled older sibling! (liability waiver required).

    • 6 Years & Older: FREE to tag along and help out (liability waiver required).

    • 7 Months to 5 Years: Will need their own ticket (we highly recommend our Friday mixed-age "Orchard" class so they can play together!).

  • At Nurtune Music, we keep our class sizes intentionally small (just 5–7 families!) to ensure a high-quality, intimate experience for you and your little one. Because these spots are in high demand, we have set the following guidelines:

    • Before the Session Begins: We understand that nap schedules change! If you need to cancel your 9-week session enrollment, please let us know at least 7 days prior to the first class for a full refund (minus a small processing fee).

    • After the Session Begins: Once the 9-week session has started, we are unable to offer refunds. When you claim a spot, it becomes unavailable to other families for the entire season.

    • Missed Classes & Make-Ups: We know life with little ones is unpredictable! While we do not offer partial refunds for missed classes, make-up classes are available if missed due to illness or an emergency. Important: To qualify for a make-up class, you must contact us to request it before your scheduled class begins. (Full-session families can also always use their free Pop-Up Class pass as a makeup!)

    • Pop-In Passes: Single-class Pop-In tickets are non-refundable. If you notify us at least 24 hours in advance that you cannot make it, we are happy to transfer your ticket to another available Pop-In date.

    • Teacher Cancellations: In the rare event that the instructor needs to cancel a class due to illness or emergency, we will either schedule a makeup date or issue a prorated refund for that specific class.

  • What makes Nurtune different from other early childhood classes? We believe that less is more! Unlike large, overwhelming classes, we intentionally cap our roster at just 5–7 families per class. This guarantees an intimate, low-stimulation environment where your child gets individualized attention, and you get a real chance to connect with the other parents in the room.
