Frequently asked questions

What are the most important rules or guidelines that families need to know when they sign up for your music classes?

1. Sick child policy

At Nurtune, we prioritize a healthy environment for all our students.

Stay home if: Please keep your child home if they have had a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or a contagious rash within the last 24 hours, or if they have a persistent, heavy cough/runny nose.

Instructor right: Nurtune instructors reserve the right to ask a family to leave the session if a child appears visibly ill, to protect the health of the other students and families.

2. Attendance & make-up classes

We understand that with children, "life happens."

Extenuating circumstances: If you must miss a class due to illness or an unexpected family emergency, we offer one (1) make-up class per 9-week session.

Scheduling: Make-up classes are subject to availability in other age-appropriate tiers and must be scheduled within the current session. They do not roll over to future sessions. Please provide at least 2 hours' notice via email or text to info@nurtunemusic.com 919.373.5569

What should families do if they need to cancel a class, miss a session, or want a refund?

3. Refund & cancellation policy

Our classes are carefully planned and tiered based on enrollment numbers.

Deadline: A full refund (minus any non-refundable processing fees) is available if requested at least 7 days before the session start date.

Late cancellations: Within 7 days of the first class, no refunds will be issued. However, credit toward a future session may be granted at the discretion of the founder in extreme circumstances.

Refer to sick child policy for missing a session due to illness.

How do you protect the privacy of the children and families who join your program?

We value your child's musical growth as much as we value your privacy. We will never sell your data, and we only share information with third-party tools (like our payment processor) that are necessary to run our classes. Your child's identity is protected here at Nurtune.

What is your policy on photography and videography during classes?

We love to share the joy of music! Occasionally, we may take photos or videos during classes for promotional purposes (e.g., website, social media). If you prefer that your child not be photographed or videoed, please inform us in writing at the time of registration. We will always respect your preferences.

What happens if a class is canceled by Nurtune?

In the rare event that Nurtune must cancel a class due to instructor illness, inclement weather, or unforeseen circumstances, we will notify registered families as soon as possible via email and text. We will offer a make-up class or a credit for a future session, at our discretion.

Are parents or guardians required to stay with their children during classes?

For our "Seedlings" and "Wildflowers" tiers, a parent or guardian is required to be present and actively participate with their child throughout the entire class session. This helps foster a stronger bond and encourages musical engagement. For older tiers, parental presence may be optional or limited to specific times, as outlined in the program details.
